I’m not a big fan of cheesy romantic novels, but there’s something about Vibha Batra’s writing that made me fall in love with this book. Maybe the timing was just perfect. I was getting into a reading slump from my last read, and this book saved me.
Meet Misha, a young makeup artist who is trying hard to find her niche. She shares a house with her best friend Sammy, her house husband(Oh yeah! ;)). Sammy is sweet, polite and a great friend. Poulomi, Misha’s BFF, also works with her in a M.A.C store. Poulomi arranges a gig for Mish, and there she ends up seeing a handsome guy being cornered by few drop-dead gorgeous models. Mish being the girl she is, always on the lookout for damsels in distress, decides to help him. He turns out to be Akshay Agarwal of Agarwal Jewellers, title sponsors of the Bridal Fashion Week. What happens next is not a big mystery. They fall in love, and things seem great till Akshay’s sister comes into the picture. She is overprotective, and someone who’s not ready to settle down for anything less than a 100% kundali match. Misha finds herself in a place where she has to change everything about her to hold on to Akshay. What follows is a typical saas-bahu drama, except here the saas is actually her sister-in-law. Will she give up everything for her relationship? Read to find out more.
There’s definitely something about Misha that I found so relatable(not the love for make-up part, that’s so not me 😉 ). She is strong, innocent and always ready to help. There are other small characters that I enjoyed reading about, like Misha’s mom. Overall I really had fun reading this. If you’re looking for a short road-trip or airport read, or trying to get out of a reading slump, do pick this up. It is a quick, fun and hilarious read.
