BOOK REVIEW: Start a Start-up from start, Gyanesh Sahu.

Language: English
Paperback: 170 pages
Publisher: Blue Rose Publishers; 1st edition (15 December 2017)

Abhimanyu, the protagonist, feels so incomplete with his engineering course and dreams about doing something exciting and fulfilling. He then settles on the idea of starting up a new online venture. He meets the bold and beautiful Shanaya. She becomes his best friend and partner(both in personal & professional life). Abhimanyu and Shanaya, together, with the help of their friends finally build their own website and are all set for its launch. Few hours before their grand launch they discover that their site has been hacked. What follows is lot of chaos and finally how they overcome every obstacle and emerge successful.

This is Abhimanyu’s journey from being a college student to a successful entrepreneur. The book describes all the efforts that goes into starting a venture. Loaded with graphs, pros-cons list, this book is a guide for every budding entrepreneur out there.

The writing style is simple and basic. I personally feel that the book could use another round of editing. There are lot of grammatical and editing errors. Even names are misspelled a couple of times. I’m not sure if it’s just the e-book or even the physical copy as well. A book with not so great language is a big turn off for me. It just spoils the reading experience and makes you loose interest in the plot. This plot has potential, I hope they correct all the errors in the next reprint.

The book has strong characters and there’s so much to learn from each character, but I wish there was more in-depth character development. Shanaya is such a strong, independent girl and I wanted to know more about her, but there just wasn’t enough. The main focus of the book is about the start-up, but I felt a little more focus on their individual characters wouldn’t hurt.

This book is loaded with information about starting a new venture and will take you step-by-step through the whole process listing the pros and cons at every level. With some editing done this book will definitely act as a guide for anyone who’s dreaming of becoming an entrepreneur.
